Hope's Champion Task Force
Chief Operating Officer and Commander, HCTF
An experienced public servant and seasoned crisis consultant, Wendeen Eolis reacted to 9/11 as a doer. Following President George W. Bush's visit to New York, after the attacks on the World Trade Center, she connected with Secretary of State, General Colin Powell. He set her on a productive path that led to her positions as Chief Operating Officer and Civilian Commander of Hope's Champion Task Force.
Hope's Champion Task Force ("HCTF") was founded as a conduit for recommending special counsel to assist the Government in dealing with myriad legal issues that flowed from the terrorism of 9/11 in the United States and overseas. Initially, she visited with government and business leaders and their representatives, in the trenches, to report ongoing worries and potential legal issues lurking in the background for the United States and US allies.
HCTF Mission
Wendeen has overseen large vetting teams, evaluating potential legal talent for special counsel roles to address legal exposure in connection with emergency preparedness and recovery related to incidents of terrorism, violence, and natural disasters. She has also been called upon to assist other vetting teams in considering lawyers for high-level positions in the administrations of six United States presidents.
From day one, Wendeen has looked upon her work for HCTF as a labor of love. Today Hope's Champion Task Force brings to the table an imposing network of contacts for its global vetting operations and pro bono activities.
